I have to say Facebook is a little disappointing to my business in terms of site traffic. @mike I probably don't have catchy content, but if I had more likes I would probably try harder. I do want to be relevant and would love to make facebook work, right now my social media of choice is Pinterest. I believe that is potential waiting to explode. Mike I need to pick your brain.

i didn't read the article, but it seems like it's the same expectations whenever a *new* technology comes out. i remember when people wanted websites and thought that their very existence would take care of the business for them. but it's the same as it always was, there has to be a good product, service or information available to have something to promote that people will keep coming back to and tell their friends... and it always takes work.

I hear you, but for different reasons. Facebook is a means to an end, not an end unto itself. It is one arm of a small business's sales funnel, to direct customers and prospects to a more personal, and brand-owned, location. As you point out, any effective Facebook brand strategy is powered by killer content. Probably the last thing business wants to hear is, "Now you need to start developing content." Most small biz isn't set up for that level of development. Be interested to hear more about the small biz expectations and tactics. Businesses need to stay social to be sustainable, the new generation of customers expect it. Sorry I missed your JHole visit.
